Real campfire videos on YouTube
While AI slop videos are flooding YouTube, there are some channels that record the real deal.
The AI flood makes it difficult to find YouTube channels with campfires lit and recorded by humans. To make life easier for us humans that prefer reality, here is a list of the channels that makes the effort.
(All stats as of writing. Sorted in order of subscriber count. If you have tips on similar channels, please leave it in the comments.)
Fox Nature
Fox Nature is not a pure campfire channel, but has about 90 scenes in the ‘Soothing campfires’ playlist. Both sound and image is of high production quality*. While the channel uses no AI, most of the campfire videos are looped. Based in Czechia.
The Campfire Experience
The channel offers more that 100 unique campfire scenes, recorded in real locations, with high quality gear. No AI. Most of the public videos are looped for hours long playback, but the no-loop original recordings are available as a members exclusive. Based in Norway.
The Escaper
About half of the videos on The Escaper channel are real scene campfire videos, with a mix of looped and non-looped. Production quality is continually improving. Based in Ukraine.
Norwegian Fireplace and Campfire
A small collection of real scene no-loop campfires. Fairly low production quality. Based in Norway.
Atmosphere
The campfire playlist of the Atmosphere channel has 134 videos. All are real scenes, all are looped. Low to medium production quality. Based in the USA.
The Campfire Channel
A pure campfire channel, with real campfire scenes – though a lot of them are backyard campfires. Most are looped to either three or eight hours. Poor production quality. Based in Canada.
Fireplace Scandinavia
The channel does not seem to be active anymore, but does have about 80 campfire scenes with no AI (though rather poor production quality). Based in Sweden.
There’s now even a playlist in the Mediarena YouTube channel, with only start to end real scene campfires, no loop and no AI:

- A note on production quality. To achieve a score of high production quality the videos must be recorded in at least 4K resolution, recorded on a modern and preferably full frame sensor set to HDR/RAW recording. Anything less will not be able to record the subtle nuances of colours that fire makes. Good composition also counts.
